SANespresso

The work represents “globalization” which is the production and distribution of modern goods and services. It is a welcome development for many people in that it offers them access to products that they would not otherwise have. ... And the exposure to foreign cultural goods frequently brings about changes in local cultures, values, and traditions. why I use the San as my representation is that they are the native people of Southern Africa, where I am from. Coffee is commodity that is is consumed across cultures we can all identify with it and the reason why I used a Nespresso machine is that it represents modernization. It’s sad but ancient cultures and traditions are slowly disappearing across the globe.

The Rise of Bitcoin

This work by Ari Hersch is a play on French painter Hubert Roberts work, A landscape with Ruins of the round Temple, It showed a statue of Venus which has now been taken down in Ari's Work and replaced with new sculpture representing Bitcoin. And the other monument of Marcus Aurelius has been defaced with graffiti

I want to break free, the famous words by Freddy Mercury. The work portays a person with a duck tube making the best of a conflict situation.

Where is the love?

The depiction of a young boy, holding a rose and protea, Love and South Africa. A revolution of unity between all who inhabits the land.

It's no child's play

Its no childs play is portayed in such a way that it would be a mural on a kids bedroom wall. The Bomb and balloons exists has proved to be a diastrous weapon that often kids see and are attracted to the balloons which results in harming the child.

Chevrons condensed

Chevrons condensed is a play on a famous Andy Wahol Pice of the Campbells Tomato soup. This piece by Ari Hersch is putting emphasis on The Chevron Corpoartion and their 2021 oil spill in the San Francisco bay area.

Gucci Hood

A pair opf sneakers hanging on telephone lines or Power lines once was sign to show others where Drugs can be bought back in the hood. A gucci sneaker today is worn by those with money, the elite class and is showing a clash between the old and the new, The poor and the rich.
